MAKERACER TOUR

Where Good Taste Goes to Die Quickly

Early Preview / Jan 26

So the shapes are set. Now let's talk color.

Welcome to the Paint Mode.

Every part already comes with a sensible default color. It works out of the box.

But let’s be honest, you probably want to use the filament you actually have, or the one you’re planning to buy next.

Good news! That’s exactly what this mode is for.

Painting Easy

Patterns

If you want fast results, start with a Pattern.

A pattern pre-defines how many filaments are used and where they’re applied across the car.

Example:

Tri Pattern

1 filament for the chassis (PETG or PC)

2 filaments for the body (PLA)

Color Swaps

Each Pattern comes with curated Color Swaps. Ready-made combos designed by our team.

Pick one, click once, done.

Examples:

  • Midnight: Dark blue + black PLA, black PC

  • Arctic Alley: Clean silver + dark grey PLA, black glitter PETG

The 3D web configurator will also reflect real filament characteristics where possible.

That includes basic and advanced materials: metallic, wooden, glitter filaments, and more.

You choose, and everything updates immediately in the 3D view.

What you see is what you’ll print, almost exactly.

Painting Hard

But, you want full control, don't you?

Okay, okay! Just switch to the Custom Paint Mode.

You control the Filament Slots.

  • Add or delete filaments from the setup

  • Choose any materials

  • Choose any colors

And the best part, every single solo-printable element (about 200 per car) can be assigned to any filament slot you want.

Examples:

Want the entire car in black PC blend, but the windows in semi transparent PETG?

You can.

Want a different PLA color for every single rim?

Do it.

You want every single part made from a different filament?
That’s about 200 filament slots.

You know the answer.

The Chassis Model will preselect a filament for tires, usually TPU. In Custom Mode, you can override that too.

Red PLA tires?

It’s your car now.

Note: No cars have burned yet.

But we’re not ruling it out.
