You got your general body, and chassis models. Congrats!
Now the real fun start from here, because in the 2nd step, Assembly, you'll pick specific parts for your car.
This is the videogamey part of the process.
It's quite simple. In Assembly, you don’t model anything.
You choose.
We expose a curated set of designs and parameters, and you move through them step by step.
Pick what you want.
Everything fits.
Everything drives.
If a combination isn’t compatible, it simply won’t be available.
You can’t accidentally create a broken, undriveable car. You can create something seriously ugly. That part is on you.
But it will always be functional (and quite durable)!
Parameters vs. Part Styles
There are two kinds of choices in Assembly:
Parameters will be more abstract, technical decisions, like suspension stifness.
Part Styles are physical swaps. Actual parts, actual geometry. Like a specific bumper (Offroad, Cyber, Spikes, see pic above)
Both types work together.
Absolute Modularity
Every car in Makeracer is built from replaceable parts.
Body and chassis. So..
Bumpers are swappable, body panels can carry different equipment, bed covers range from roll cages and hardtops to utility builds like tow cranes. Wheels, tires, fenders, hoods and roofs with gear, all modular.
Any body. Any chassis. Same rules, the point is to let YOU make it, but also do it easy for you to make.
Stacking
Some parts unlock other parts. Example:
Choose an army-style roof, and you unlock a second layer.
That layer is the roof rack. Unlocks a third layer.
And you decide for a setup of a surf, two suitcases, and a radio.
Now which radio? We have three options for you.. and it goes on and on.
And on, and on.
